Quite simply - don't. Don't do it. It's restrictive and only for lazy people.
Learning to drive from scratch in a car with an automatic gear-box is no easier than learning to drive in a car with a manual gear box - 'Automatics' just press the clutch pedal for you. You still need to take and pass a Theory test; still need to learn the paracticalties of driving, road awareness, confidence and rules of the road; and still have to go through the experience of passing your driving test. Then at the end of all that time and expense you get a driving licence that restricts you to only driving 'automatics'.
Automatics do have their place, I agree. Towing. Great big cars. Yep, all these are easier to drive with an automatic gearbox. Although I want to be able to drive these types of cars by my choice, not by the limitations of my driving license.
Once you have passed your driving test in a (manual) car, you can drive either manual or automatic cars. It is a life skill and is not restrictive on the type of car (or gearbox) that you use.
If you pass your test in an automatic - you will be confined to automatic cars for ever (or untill you go through the process of taking a manual driving test).
