Learner drivers beware that test dates set by the DSA are not set in stone.  At any time, they can (and do) cancel your test and offer you a 'later' time.  This can only be done in the most extreme circumstances, like 'examiner off sick', or 'leaves on the line'..

The knock-on effects to the Instructors when it happens are immense.  Not only does the original test time now need filling at short notice, lessons leading up to the original test get cancelled.  The pupil will justifiably expect their lessons to be rebooked leading up to the new test date and that the Instructor be available for the new time, even if this means them moving other pupils lessons, that then have to be rebooked...

So, a test date is purely that.  A date.  Not a guarantee.
